This is fishing, we cannot guarantee success, but we will do everything we can to improve your odds. Our guides are well seasoned, know the fish patterns, whats working and what isn't and want to see you on fish as bad as you want to catch but there may be times when mother nature just doesn't cooperate.

Our shelters are very comfortable but we suggest layering up. Warm and dry boots are a necessity, don't wear your best clothes, we're fishing not going to a fashion show. You will probably get some slime on your hands from the fish and the bait. Remember your fishing license (your guide will check everyones license before hand), for inland lake fishing you will be required to have a standard license. On the big lake you will need an all species license as we will be targeting trout and salmon. If you have your own tackle or gear you want to use, talk with the guide and they will let you know if what you have will work or we can help set you up with your own personal ice package from our local store. Bring a snack and a drink or talk with your guide, we all love a good river or lakeside meal! Bring a camera or your cell phone, but please talk to your guide about a tether for your camera, phone or valuables, the ice hole is a magnet for anything valuable. We have seen many phones go to the bottom of the lake never to be seen again. Your guide will contact you the day before your excursion to go over your list, details and to answer any questions you may have.

Your guide will filet your catch and if you want to jump in and learn, the guide will instruct you on how to do it and you can try it on your own! All filets will be vacuum packed and labeled in serving size packs. 

You don't need to be scared, our guides know the ice, they will never do anything to put you in danger. In fact our guides take their children, wives, grand children, parents and other loved ones out on the ice when they are not guiding you!

Ooooh our favorite! We don't have to break you of bad habits. Our first time anglers are our favorite, you will enjoy yourself and might find an addiction you didn't know you had! All of us were first time anglers and we love to see new people getting into the hobby! Bring on that beginners luck!

The shacks are comfortable, our heaters are over sized so on the coldest days we can warm them up to about 70 degrees. We place foam floors to keep the ice and water off the feet. We ask that you layer your clothes so you can make yourself comfortable.

We try to fish every opportunity that we can, as long as the winds allow us to set up the shacks and we can still see shore, we will set up and fish. We leave complete discretion to the guides. Poor weather brings good fishing!

For any excursion over 4 hours, we will set up a Porta potty in a private shack. We recommend all customers try to relieve themselves prior to coming on the ice but we also understand nature calls.

Please bring the kids! That is our future generation of outdoors men and women. Please let us know the ages of the kids at booking. Our guides like to give the kids a surprise!

We can work on setting up special accommodations as long as we know in advance. We have had stroke victims with limited balance fishing for salmon and steelhead in high water rivers as well as in the shack and have had people in their 90s on the water with us. We will make accommodations to do anything necessary to get our clients safely on the water! 

For inland lake fishing we will be meeting at Circle K in Wetmore. 45 minutes prior to the start of your excursion. You will be responsible for your own transportation to the lake. Expect a 30-40 minute ride through the beautiful Hiawatha National forest to the lake of the day. Your guide will have a snowmobile or atv as long as we have 8+ inches of good ice. Your guide will go over all details the day before your excursion.

For Gitche Gumee (Lake Superior) packages, your guide will direct you where to meet depending on where the bite is best. You will want to arrive 20 minutes early for these packages.
